My Life in Music

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”
Victor Hugo

I've always been in awe of people who can listen to music and come away primed for a weighty discussion of relevant themes and deep insights.

To me, music is profound, is weighty, but it's also simple. And AMAZING.

Think about it: What other time is it perfectly that an oftentimes, total stranger, is given license to speak to you about some of your most painful, sensitive life-changing thoughts on your mind and in your heart.

To you. About you. For you.

For this reason (and a thousand others), I am staring Playlist, my blog about songs that are currently on my iPod, why I like it, and what makes it important to me.
I'll choose my songs at random, so, there may be several in a row from a particular genre. Don't blame me, blame the Shuffle button.

Also, here are some things about me that you may like to know, music-wise:

- I like all kinds of music, across many eras. So, if you read about Tupac in one post and Buddy Holly in another, don't say I didn't warn you.
- I'm a sap for musicals. #sorrynotsorry
- Not all of my explanations will deep, nor will all of my posts be long.
- My mother once said that to be a good writer, you have to put something of your hear in the writing. I'll give it my best shot.

I'm looking forward to sharing my music with you.
